The 2015 grape harvest: great expectations

14.10.15

Excellent prospects for Bepin de Eto’s 2015 grape harvest. Everything is proceeding under optimum conditions, the grapes are of perfect quality and the harvest is proving easier than in 2014, though the hot weather meant vineyard management required even greater attention. The particularly persistent, high summer temperatures meant that supplementary vineyard operations were kept to a minimum, which was good for the environment. The increase in the difference between day- and night-time temperatures in August led to two remarkable results: our red grapes acquired more polyphenols and the white ones acquired more aromatic compounds. The white-grape harvest finished in mid-September, while the red ended in early October, when Colli di Conegliano Rosso Riserva grapes were harvested.  This general optimism also extends to our wines’ prospective quality. The grapes are very healthy and the quantity harvested is excellent, so the results of fermentation are really extraordinary. Generally speaking, we can say that the white wines have a balanced acidity and good ripeness while the reds have an elegant, layered structure. “The Bepin de Eto estate’s objective is, as always, to make wines that meet our consumers’ expectations and to guarantee a consistently excellent product,” states Ettore Ceschin. “Wine is a living form and we want it to be perfect, irrespective of the vintage and quality or quantity variables”. In other words, 2015 shows all the signs of producing wines of great quality in keeping with the estate’s natural bent for excellence.
